A Week Without My Bestie

Sadly, I have had to live this past week of my life without my best friend. Yes, my best friend left me...to go on a cruise to Mexico! I know, sick right? LOL. So I had an entire week without her...what was I to do?? I'll tell you what I did- NOTHING! haha. While Ashley was relaxing on an amazing cruise ship, I was relaxing my butt in front of my T.V. all week lol. Watched lots of movies- Revolutionary Road, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days, 17 Again, Princess Protection Program, Another Cinderella Story, The Notebook, and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie....as you can tell, I also watched a lot of the Disney Channel lolol. I finally ventured out of my house on Thursday night to go to a senior meeting at school. It was weird to see everyone again. It's weird that we're seniors. It's just weird. And yes, at one point I had to tell myself, "Don't cry Rachel!" Don't laugh at me....I'm an emotional person lol. Then yesterday I went back-to-school shopping with my mom, for the last time. Again, weird! But I got lots of awesome stuff to balance out the not so awesome polo's I'm stuck wearing for one more year lol. I got 2 awesome pairs of boots (hey, it was BOGO, I HAD to get 2! lol) and I can't wait until Fall/Winter so I can wear them! :) So I think I had a pretty great week...I mean, wayyyy better than a cruise right?! (For those of you that couldn't tell...that was total sarcasm lol)

Time Traveler's Wife

Saw this tonight with Ash, Heather, and Heather's friend. Such a good movie. Really sad though :( But I really liked it.

The Happiest Place On Earth

Yesterday Ashley and I went to the happiest place on earth- Disneyland! A lady that grew up with my mom works there, so she told my grandma anytime we want free tickets to just call her! So my grandma asked her if she could let Ashley and I in, and she said yes :) We started the day at California Adventure. I love that place. Tower of Terror is my favorite ride ever. It always makes me laugh when I get off for some reason lol. While we were there we saw they are making a Little Mermaid ride- FINALLY! I'm so excited! lol. Doesn't come till 2011 or 2012 though, which means we won't be here :( But when I come home to visit I'll definitely go! haha. They're also making a water show that comes next Spring :). It was a HOT day, and super crowded too! We expected it to be pretty empty since most public schools had already started, but we were wrong lol. We headed over to Disneyland around 5:00 for dinner and to ride a few rides before the fireworks show. Well turns out, everyone likes to start waiting for the show like 2 hours early, and we wanted a good spot so we ended up waiting early too lol. We had a spot right in the front though :) It was a fun day, I love Disneyland so much! Hopefully I can go at least one more time before next summer :) (well, besides Grad Night lol)

The Best Day

Today I had the best day with Ashley :) We hadn't seen each other in a couple weeks, and she had to go down to her grandma's house suddenly, so I decided to go down to my grandma's house too so we could hang out. We went to the pier for lunch and had some really yummy Mexican food (I loooove Mexican food lol). Then we walked I think like 3 miles along the beach to the place where we left our stuff (we left all our beach stuff there so that we didn't have to carry it around at the pier, because we had a skim board and boogie board and stuff lol). At first we couldn't find our stuff, and we got kinda lost, but we eventually spotted it lol. We spent a few hours there, swimming in the ocean and laying on the beach taking pics and listening to music :) It was such a perfect beach day, it felt so good out there. Then Ashley's grandma picked us up and we went back to her house. Ashley's grandparents left for their dance class, so Ash and I had the house to ourselves. We made dinner- cheese ravioli, veggies, bread, and peach iced tea. Then we got in the spa for a while, while we blasted music through her grandma's house lol. Then it was time for dessert :) We cut up a bunch of strawberries and topped them with whipped cream and chocolate syrup lol. We sat and watched Jon and Kate Plus 8 while we enjoyed our delicious strawberries :) It was so nice just hanging out with my bestie. While we were making dinner, I said to her, this is what it's gunna be like in a year when we're in South Carolina on our own in our own apartment lol. It really was the best day :) I love you bestie!

This pic cracks me up lol. I've got alfalfa hair lolol.

I did it!

(I don't really like these pics tho...I think it's cuter in person ;) lol)

Hair Change

So it's that time of year again. Where school is about to start, and I'm ready to start a new year, which makes me want a new look lol. I've been growing my hair out for foreverrrrr now, and I'm tired of it. My hair is so boring, I need a change lol. A couple summers ago I dyed my hair dark, and I definitely miss that, so I think I'm gunna do it again :) Also, I have had a major case of hair jealousy ever since I saw Selena Gomez's new hair cut lol. I think it's totally adorable! I never thought of getting my hair cut like that too, but now I'm thinking about it ;) It's SHORT, but I think it's time for me to take a risk lol.

Or there's this look, which is a little longer, and with bangs. I'm not sure if I could pull off bangs though lol.

So we'll see what I end up doing....lol.

Isabelle Starts School!

Well it's official, Isabelle has started school! She had her first day of kindergarten on Monday (the 9th). I can't believe it! Where has the time gone?? She's growing up to fast lol. Kinda funny too, how the same year she starts her 1st year of school, I start my last year of school (besides college lol). Here's some pictures of her big day that my aunt posted on Facebook...Doesn't she look so grown up?? :(

She's pretending to be sad in this pic lol. She's so funny.

Laughlin, NV

We had a short family vacation this past Sunday through Wednesday to Laughlin, Nevada. My cousins have gone every year ever since they were little. Last year my brother and I went with them, and this year my parents decided to go too. It's a lot of fun, I really enjoy going and getting out of the AV for a few days. The days are spent out on the lake, and the nights are spent eating at a buffet and going to the casinos (for those over 21 of course lol). Of course, since it's me, there is a traumatic story to go with this vacation (well okay, it's not that traumatic, but it did suck lol). So after the first day on the lake, my eyes were SO red and hurt like heck. I thought maybe it was my contacts, so I took them out, but my eyes still hurt. So I decided to go to my room and just rest them for a while, but it still hurt so bad. Literally, I was crying lol. So that whole night I ended up just staying in the hotel :( I fell asleep pretty early, and when I woke up my eyes were so SWOLLEN! I had never seen my eyes so big, it was disgusting lol. So, of course, I had a meltdown and vowed to stay in my hotel room until the day we left lolol. But I didn't. I decided to not let my ugly eyes ruin my trip, so I went out on the lake again, but I just stayed in the shade all day and didn't go out on the boat. Finally, later that night they were healed! lol. It ended up being a fun trip :)

I didn't take many pics, since half the time I was in a bummed mood, but here's a few.

Fabric District

Today I went down to the fabric district in L.A. with my mom to help my cousin Becca pick out stuff for her wedding :) We got so many great deals!! We went there with the intention of only getting a couple things, but we kept finding things that she wanted for her wedding that were great deals, so we ended up getting a ton of stuff! We got all the fabric for Isabelle's flower girl dress, that my mom is going to make, we got the fabric for the table runners and black fabric to make black table clothes, since her venue only does white table clothes and it was cheaper to make black ones than to rent them. We also found her veil for only like $30, a headpiece she's going to wear for the ceremony, and the branches and crystals for she wanted for 5 of her center pieces! The branches were the best deal of the day I think. She had found a place to order them online, but they were like $25 per branch, and we just happened to run into a store FULL of them... and they were only $9 each! It was very exciting lol. It was an exhausting day, but definitely worth it! Becca's wedding is going to be so gorgeous, I can't wait! :)

The fabric for the flower girl dress
We did soooo much calculating trying to find the cheapest prices lol
The veil :)
The headpiece for the ceremony
The fabric for the table runners
Us with all of the goodies and the end of the day! :)

Yearbok Camp

We left early Friday morning for yearbook camp :) It was at the same place as last year, Chapman University. This year all our staff except one went, which is really good since half our staff is new. I didn't feel like I really learned this year, since I learned so much last year, but it was still fun to go to bond with all the new people and to be a part of doing our theme. We met with our favorite artist, Tara, and she designed our cover :) I love it, it's COMPLETELY different than anything Desert Christian has EVER seen, that's for sure lol. One thing everyone has to do at yearbook camp is complete our theme packet. It's like our first deadline. Every school has to turn in their theme packet by 8:00 pm on Sunday. Last year we had major issues, and didn't make the deadline :( This year..... we had it turned in before 5:00!!! :) lol. That was super exciting for us. After we finished our deadline, it's tradition to go to Downtown Disney and eat at Rainforest Cafe (since the camp puts on a dance, and we're not allowed to go lol). So we all got ready and headed to Downtown Disney. There was a 2 hour wait at Rainforest, so we were walking around and I guess Mrs. Puglia found out Build-A-Bear was having a special so we decided to make a yearbook mascot! lol. It took us a while to decide what it should be, but finally we decided on a horse, since we're the Knights, and Knights ride horses lol. It was so much fun making him. His name is Chadford (inside joke from our yearbook whale watching trip...I think I wrote about it in that post lol). Then we went and ate at Rainforest Cafe, and got 2 volcanoes...yummy! The next morning was the last day of camp. All the schools got divided into groups and we present our theme. They have a couple advisors/Walsworth people that basically judge your theme. Pretty much like American Idol LOL. They tell us what they like, and what they don't like. They kind of picked on our theme a lot, but pretty much everything they said we knew they would say lol. I love our theme, and I'm really excited for this year and to SHOCK all of Desert Christian with what we're doing :)

Oh and I almost forgot to write this funny story. So, at yearbook camp, anytime someone loses something, like their name tag or something like that, Mike (our representative) makes them get on stage and do something embarrassing in front of everyone. Well, on Friday after dinner, Ashley and I realized we needed our laptops for the next thing and the dorms are kind of a long walk from the campus, so we just got up and hurried to go get our laptops, leaving our trays on the table. Big mistake. The next day, Mike called Ashley and I on stage for not putting our trays away, and guess what we had to do? The freakin chicken dance lol. Even worse, we didn't know it! So they had to get another student from another school to come up and show us how to do it lolol. Then Ashley and I ended up being in the photography slideshow like 5 times. Kind of embarrassing, but it was funny lol.
